Splayed fingers, hidden rings.

Poetry 1995–96

Spring

breathing bright motes,
he sat with warmth playing over his face.
and for a moment, forgot.

a refrain from a song -
"time is passing, and passing, and passing..."
rippled across his arms.

he folded them and rose.
trailing memories like bare wet footprints
through springs crowded streets.
